Sourcing Spotlight: MYB Textiles
This is the second installment our new weekly blog series, Sourcing Spotlight, where we are showcasing the outstanding local manufacturers and suppliers that help Elizabeth Martin stay 100% British. Check out last week’s post all about Harris Tweed here!
MYB (Morton Young and Borland) was founded in 1900 in the Irvine Valley of Ayrshire, Scotland, where it is still based today. The company is an internationally renowned heritage weaver of Madras (Scottish Leno lace) and lace sheers.
MYB Textiles is the last remaining lace and madras producer in Scotland, and the world’s only manufacturer that creates patterned lace using original Nottingham Looms.
Predominately used in the luxury interiors market, fashion designers are now using MYB’s exquisite cotton lace too. The range of designs and unique patterns available is incredibly extensive, maning they can supply to makets all around the world from their niche heritage mill in the UK.
