A Moment with charcoal grey
We’re in charcoal grey!
We are so pleased to announce that Elizabeth Martin garments are now stocked in Charcoal Grey, in Biggar. We took a moment to ask the owner Kay Cowen a few questions about her business.
An Interview with Kay Cowen @ charcoal grey
Describe charcoal grey in 3 words?
Classic, unique & inspiring.
Tell us about charcoal grey, how did it come about?
Throughout a 25 year career in beauty therapy a recurring comment when talking to clients- was the lack of quality clothing that was different from the high street brands. I realised that there was a gap in the market for a boutique with independent designers and brands – particularly British made.
What is your ultimate mission or goal with charcoal grey?
My ultimate goal is to offer timeless, unique and varied quality clothing and accessories in a friendly, approachable and comfortable environment.
What are your thoughts on sustainable fashion?
My ethos has always been to invest and support businesses who are ethical and environmentally aware. Clothing should be versatile and long lasting and not throw away and disposable – as fast fashion has become.
What item from your own wardrobe can you not live without?
I adore black especially tops made by British brand Essential Noir. I love versatile classic, tailored and flattering clothes.
Which piece from Elizabeth Martin is your favourite?
I absolutely love the Bonnie jacket and no surprise I have it in black! It’s so easy to wear with jeans, skirts and dresses. You can change the look completely from casual to smart. The Harris tweed it’s made with is my favourite fabric.
